Bronze Basket

Lowest monthly membership.

Cover charge at the door: $40 per visit
Spend this before the plan pays: $7,000 in groceries
Out-of-pocket maximum: None
Participating stores: A short list, chosen by your employer. A few are listed in your brochure only.
Enrollment window: Two weeks a year

Our advice. Keep a plan. The protection lives inside one: with no plan there is no amount we call our median, and nothing for the law to hold us to. The smallest network at the lowest price does everything the law needs. That is this one.

Silver Cart

Middle monthly membership.

Cover charge at the door: $30 per visit
Spend this before the plan pays: $5,000 in groceries
Out-of-pocket maximum: $9,200 in groceries
Participating stores: A longer list, chosen by your employer. A few are listed in your brochure only.
Enrollment window: Two weeks a year

Gold Pantry

Highest monthly membership.

Cover charge at the door: $20 per visit
Spend this before the plan pays: $1,500 in groceries
Out-of-pocket maximum: $4,000 in groceries
Participating stores: The longest list, chosen by your employer. A few are, still, listed in your brochure only.
Enrollment window: Two weeks a year

The fine print, in plain type

Your employer chooses which plans are offered, and which stores participate in them. You choose among what is offered, during enrollment.
Open enrollment runs two weeks a year. If you are reading this, it is probably not those two weeks.
Your monthly membership comes out of your pay and appears on your pay stub, not here.
Met your deductible? Congratulations on all that shopping! We now pay a fraction of each item.
Bronze Basket has no out-of-pocket maximum, so you pay for your groceries every time, all year. That makes it not insurance, and keeps your membership our lowest.
Just looking? No problem! The cover charge is collected on your way in, and again on your way out. Hassle free!
You may buy one item per visit. Milk and bread are two visits.
Figures shown are illustrative. Items are priced individually for you and your store. Prices are not shown at the register; ask, and the cashier may tell you, or wait 6 weeks or longer for your Explanation of Groceries.
